How to use
Understanding how the Quick Controller fits into your productivity routine.

🥱
Default ModeStageHero doesn’t use a traditional main window. Instead, it uses an optional Quick Controller HUD as its primary interface. In Default Mode, the HUD is configured in Workflow Settings to mimic standard macOS window behavior, providing a familiar experience for most users. The intended use is to quickly switch to StageHero, make an adjustment, and then return to another application. Users should feel free to do this as often as needed, even repeatedly throughout the day. Apple’s buried appearance controls have conditioned us to think these settings should be used sparingly, but StageHero removes that limitation and encourages a more fluid, hands-on approach to personalizing your workspace.

Presenter ModeNo Workflow options are selected. The StageHero operator has full manual control over how and when the Quick Controller HUD appears, using keyboard shortcuts or other assigned triggers (URL scheme). With Workflow automation essentially disabled, StageHero will not hide or show the HUD automatically when activated or deactivated. The Quick Controller remains visible until the user chooses otherwise. The HUD can also be raised at anytime, on top of any application. This mode is ideal for screen recordings, live demonstrations, or any scenario where precise visual control is required.

Minimalist ModeFor users who need quick access to a blank screen. This mode can serve as a privacy feature, but it’s most often used to reduce visual noise, encourage focus, and restore calm. Sometimes, looking at nothing is the most productive thing you can do. Used as a “clear the screen” tool, it turns StageHero into a simple thinking device. If the Quick Controller HUD is open unintentionally, it will automatically close itself.
